Aside from one goofily entertaining song, the show feels like its running on fumes.
Picking right up from last week, the episode opens on Rebeccas first post-meds visit to Dr. Akopian.
Frankly, I couldnt stand this song, and its not because Im anti-antidepressants.
Its because it so perfectly sums up the shows transformation from complexity to smugness.
The real, lived experience of taking antidepressants is very messy and complex.
Side effects, while preferable to crippling depression, are still common and debilitating.
Im not saying thatCrazy Ex-Girlfriendshould tackle all of these topics with kitchen-sink realism.
The message really hits home after she falls asleep on a hospital gurney and wakes up in the morgue.
