We have to start with Roland Blums accent.

How did you land on that?

Reading the first script, he was clearly a larger-than-life character.

Hes almost a caricature.

The Kings said they wanted him to have a real street-fighter feel to him in terms of his politics.

Theres definitely a little bit of Al Pacino in there.

That was my first day of shooting and I was quite scared, really.

Its very confident in the way it uses current events to tell its own story.

Roland, in a way, exemplifies that in some ways.

Did playing Roland give you insight into those sorts of transgressive, far-right political figures like Roger Stone?

I can see why people are able to justify their actions to themselves and keep pushing it further.

Its the idea that youre almost doing a service to people by testing the boundaries.

Did you see this role as something related to that kind of political activism? Not really.

Its politics with the small-p that Ive got more and more involved with.

But I am very interested in whats going on in politics.

Its really great to be able to go into work each day and actually bring that into it.

You always feel like things could change dramatically tomorrow and we might suddenly be behind the story.

But I think were okay in that respect at the moment.

This season, theGood Fightcast starts to sing a bit.

At the end of one episode, you sing Ill Be There.

What was it like filming that?

I think Ive sung more than anyone else on the show cause Ive sung twice now!

One song that I do is as part of a courtroom scene, that was a lot easier.

Never had to do that before and hopefully never have to do it again.

My boyfriend named his penis.

Its come up on afew talk showssince for her, you, and Christine Baranski herself.

Now youre in a show with the actual great Christine Baranski, the actor.

Did that come up, or was it pointedly not discussed?

No, we definitely talked about it.

That was something Sarah just made up, in so much as its not true.

Its a joke that she made up.

Sarah made that up.

Was Rolands beard real?

Did you grow it yourself?

But I turned up for my first costume fitting looking essentially like I look in the show.

So I suggested, How do you feel about me keeping this look?

And everyone really went for it.

Theres something quite pagan about him.

Thats why I made the choice to not wear any jewelry.

He wears these beautiful clothes, but underneath that, hes just an animal.

He does a lot of drugs, too.

Theres a lot of injecting things into his ass or taking suppositories or whatever else.

Is it fun to get to play someone whos high all the time?

Yeah, hes out there.

Speaking of out-there characters, youre also in AmazonsGood Omensalongside David Tennant.

Ive seen you play vampires and werewolves in inTwilightandUnderworldmovies.

But youre playing a good angel in this.

Is it a shift to play the prim fantasy character for once?

I love doing it.

I thought that was quite funny and quite poignant.

I also got the chance to have blond hair for awhile, which was fun.

Whats it like working with David Tennant?

That was genuinely a problem, because I just really enjoyed watching him act.

Id think,Oh, thats very good what hes done there.

Or,Oh, that was really funny.

We worked on it for about six months, me and him together pretty much the whole time.

Its the only character Ive played where dont think of the character on its own.

I only ever think of the character in relationship to Davids character.

Theyre such a pair.
