Oh, okay,Outlander.
Theres reunions and farewells and one of the most heartbreaking scenes of the entire series.
HIS LIP QUIVERS, YOU GUYS.
He arrives at River Run to check up on Bree but he spends most of his time with Jocasta.
And they getinto it.
They fight because Murtagh doesnt approve of Brianna marrying a Red Coat.
They fight because he thinks Jocasta could be doing so much more to help the Regulator cause.
She even throws her drink in his face.
(And that whisky is precious, so you know shes fired up.)
Any good romcom fan knows that this punch in of fighting almost always leads to kissing.
However, we do cut right to those two lovebirds waking up together the next morning.
Murtaghs silver locks are untied andflowing.
Breakfast is waiting, she says.
Let it wait, he tells her.
Anyway, Im a dead person now.
Murtagh also hangs out with Brees newborn son, so theres nothing left for me here anyway.
From this welcome moment of pure happiness, we must take a dark turn.
From the moment they walk into Shadow Lake, things are tense.
You just knew that skull with the silver filling was going to be trouble!
They want the stone.
The legend of Otter Tooth haunts the tribe.
So thats plan B!
Chaos ensues and it does not end well for the Frasers.
The rebel Mohawk are banished.
So what does Jamie, still atoning for how he treated Bree, do?
He volunteers as tribute.
He doesnt even hesitate.
They can have him if they hand over Roger.
Claire is gutted because its not like she traveled back in time to hang out with Clarence the Donkey.
And then Ian volunteers as tribute!
Its a double volunteer-as-tribute situation!
There is nothing Jamie can do, Ians already settled it with the Mohawk.
Sam Heughan, already having a great season, is outstanding in this scene.
Hes devastated to lose Ian, but proud of him for stepping up.
Hes become the titular Man of Worth.
There are tears streaming down his face.
It is almost too much to take.
And he loves Bree.
In conclusion: Roger is still the Worlds Worst.
Jamie and Claire have to walk away from Ian.
It still does not make up for watching Jamies lip quiver.
Once alone with Roger, Jamie and Claire have some explaining to do.
Jamie eventually bellowing, Thats the last unanswered blow!
made me feel things.
But after all that, they brief Roger on a whole bunch of information we already know.
See, this is why you keep Balfe and Heughan in every episode, people.
They wont have him returning just to break Briannas heart again.
THEY ARE HER PARENTS.
Roger is not the victim here!
Brianna deserves better and that is saying something because you know Im very lukewarm on Brianna.
Then, just as they are preparing to return to Frasers Ridge, ol Rog turns up!
He loves her, hell always love her, and he would very much like to meet his son.
Okay, so thats very nice.
Still, I feel like Brianna is owed a debt for all the waiting around she had to endure.
The dramas not over yet!
Red Coats arrive at River Run.
Everyone assumes theyre there to arrest Murtagh.
They are so in love!
Its the stuff dreams are made of!
Murtagh makes it out of there, but the panic is all for naught.
The men are only there to deliver a letter to Jamie from Governor Tryon.
Tryon has ordered Jamie to build a militia to fight the Regulators.
His first mission: find and kill Murtagh Fitzgibbons.
Okay, so maybe the panic is necessary, because thats going to be a big problem.
