Sam Smith came out as nonbinary earlier this year.

I am not male or female.

I think I float somewhere in between, they said in aninterview with Jamila Jamilon Instagram.

At the time, Smith said they would continue to use he and his pronouns.

On Friday, Smith announced via Instagram post that their pronouns are the gender neutral they and them.

The list included trans, genderqueer artist andsoon-to-beSupergirlcast memberChella ManandQueer EyesJonathan Van Ness.

Today is a good day so here goes.

I hope you’re free to see me like I see myself now.

So for now I just want to be VISIBLE and open.
