Its been five years since Astronomy Club became one of thefew self-formed teamsto take the UCB stage.
We wanted to say something with our comedy.
I mean, theres a Maya Angelou performance in here, for Gods sake!
Rewatching it brought back a lot of memories.
Watching it again, its like,This is a perfect sketch, it hits all the points!
And its really funny.
You know, Homey dont play that I think it even became like a national catchphrase.
So its definitely had an effect on me and how I approach comedy.
I think it came out literally when YouTube became a thing.
I still think its funny.
We wanted to say something with our comedy.

So Im gonna fast-forward to 2009: What Up With That?
I think my favorite What Up With That?
But too random and too silly if that isnt my brand, I dont know what is.
And its not a very, you know, sophisticated premise, but I just always loved that sketch.
It was nice to see someone like me on TV, and that was just was so silly.
Chappelle has this sketch,The Racial Draft,where like …
I love that there was this black dude just speaking for black people.
I thought that was so cool.
Ill know theyre talking about Bruce McCulloughs character in that sketch.
I write a lot of sketches like that.
I like to write video sketches, and sketches that are genred or parodies of something.
So like the Magical Negro Rehab sketch, I wrote that.
Its clear hes on a dolly and not really running after him.
They do stuff like that all the time, and that adds to the humor.
And I was 2 or 3, so it was completely inappropriate.
That is truly one of my earliest memories, because I hadMy Little Ponynightgowns; its all very vivid.
I was an Eddie Murphy fan and then anSNLfan just because I loved the idea of comedy.
I very quickly was also like Kids in the Hall!In Living Color!
